Drummond Block Estate Sauvignon Blanc
Our bright, crisp and full-bodied Sauvignon Blanc is a product of a six generation tradition of sustainable agriculture. Fruit for our Estate Sauvignon Blanc is night harvested by hand from the Drummond Block and whole cluster pressed. It is fermented in a combination of stainless steel tanks and new and neutral French Oak Barrels with no malolactic fermentation. It was then aged sur lies in barrels.
Heins Block Zinfandel
Inky dark, deeply structured, and profoundly rich in flavor. Our estate zinfandel is the result of an extremely low-yield crop from young vines. Field-blended with petit sirah, alicante bouschet and carignane, this Zinfandel is grown in the same rocky soils that produce some of our regions most notable zins.
Each year we make a small amount of Estate Rosé. It is available exclusively to club members.
This vibrant terroir-driven dry Rosé is made in the Saignée method, from our field-blended zinfandel, petite sirah, alicante bouschet and carignane. Though French in style, this wine’s balance of acid, floral notes and juicy summer fruit, is distinctly Californian.
No Turkeys Sold Retail Carignan
A TINY PRODUCTION OF THIS AROMATIC RED was hand-harvested from the carignan and petite sirah vines of the Heins Block of our estate vineyard; The cobbly, volcanic soil of this block is where our great great aunt and uncle Effia and Ralph Heins. In the lows of the depression they raised over 10,000 turkeys at Beltane….not for meat but to lay fertile eggs which were shipped to families to hatch their own flock……a forgotten industry but one that can surely be appreciated by today’s renewed interest in homesteading. Their sign “No Turkeys Sold Retail” hung from 1936 on and is now displayed in our kitchen. At once rustic and refined, and bottled in lighter more eco-friendly packaging, this wine seems to fit the pioneering, farming spirit of the Heins. Club Exclusive.
